The following communities are affiliated to the Amt Kaltenkirchen-Land:

On the 1st of April 1953 the borough Kaltenkirchen-Land was founded with the communities Hasenmoor, Lentföhrden, Nützen and Schmalfeld.

In 1957 the borough administration was built, which is still located at the Schmalfelder Straße in Kaltenkirchen.

On the 1.1.1968 the borough expanded with the community Hartenholm to five communities first and later with the affiliation of the community Alveslohe and Ellerau to seven communities exactly one year later.

On the 1.4.1998 Ellerau, until then the largest community resigned from the borough union and founded its own full-time administration with a full-time mayor.

Today the borough Kaltenkirchen-Land still has a polulation of around 12.000 with a constant increasing tendency. l
