Oering was an old settlement in the former borough Borstel. Oering's inhabitants were bond slaves until1797 of the borough Borstel. Then the farmers became first leaseholder of the land for 10 years at a time.
Only in 1899 were the leasehold contracts turned into hereditary leaseholds, which were later alternated by the ground rent.

Oering is still today a predominately agricultural structured community with rural commercial and service function and increasing residential character. The developed housing areas as well as infill housing lead to a continuous increase in population although the goals of the country and regional planning only want a cautious development of settlements. In the course of the village renewal programme the community recreated the inner village area.

The primary school�is located in Oering. Secondary school students visit right now the secondary school in S�lfeld as gusts. The community Oering belongs to the church community Nahe. Oering has its own church with a cemetery.
